Registration / installation of the Google Play application on the Onyx Boox reader with software version 3.1 or older:

Registration / installation of the Google Play application on the Onyx Boox reader with software version 3.1 or older:

  1. Turn on Wi-Fi (e.g. via the drop down Menu).
  2.  Go to “Settings”.
  3. Select “Apps”.
  4. Tap “Enable Google Play”.
  5. Tap “GSF ID”. You will go to Google registration process.
  6. GSF ID number should be set by default, if not, it has to be rewritten from Settings section (step 5).
  7. Log in to your Google Account.
  8. Check “I’m not a robot”.
  9. Register.
  10. After the registration wait several minutes and restart your Onyx Boox reader.
  11. After the restart Google Play Store should be available in Apps section.
  12. In some cases it may be necessary to go to Apps/Google Play Store and select Update from drop down Menu in top right corner.
  13. Log into your Google account in Google Play Store app – Done!

 

 

Registration / installation of the Google Play application on the Onyx Boox reader with software version 3.2 or newer:

To install Android Google Play it is necessary to create a Google account.
If you already have an account, please follow the steps below:

  1. Turn on Wi-Fi (e.g. via the drop down Menu).
  2. Go to “Apps”.
  3. Tap icon with 3 horizontal lines in top right corner and select “Apps Management”.
  4. Tap “Enable Google Play”.
  5. Tap “GSF ID”. You will go to Google registration process.
  6. GSF ID number should be set by default, if not, it has to be rewritten from Settings section (step 5).
  7. Log into your Google account.
  8. Check “I’m not a robot”.
  9. Register.
  10. After the registration wait several minutes and restart your Onyx Boox reader.
  11. After the restart Google Play Store should be available in Apps section.
  12. In some cases it may be necessary to go to Apps/Google Play Store and select Update from drop down Menu in top right corner.
  13. Log into your Google account in Google Play Store app – Done!

 

 

 

Additional tips:

- If instead of the GSF number, the message "GSF ID is not generated" appears, go back to the main screen, enter the "Play Store" application, if it is possible log into your Google account, restart the reader, make sure that Wi-Fi is ON and proceed to the service registration process, continuing from step 5.

- Google company reserves that the certification processing may take up to 48 hours.

- If, after completing all the steps, the device still informs about the lack of Google Protect certificate, clear the cache of the "Google Play Store" and "Google Play Services" applications in the: "Applications -> Application Management -> Application information" tab, and then restart the device. Google Play Store should now be available.

- In case of further issues, please restore the device to factory settings and repeat the entire registration process.
